Public Events

The Outdoor Art Club has several public events throughout the year. It is a perfect time to visit and learn more about who we are and what we do.

Our major fundraising event which supports our charitable work is the Annual Garden Tour.

This comittee offers five programs throughout the year on the first Thursday that are open to members and the public. Past year's included: David Herlocker, "A Natural Year in the Life of Marin County;" a San Francisco Bay Model field trip; Deborah Koons Garcia, "The Future of Food;" Charles McGlashan, "The Future of Water in Marin County;" and Mary Jane Burke, "Update on Schools in Marin County". In addition, the committee voted to recognize by small donations or memberships these civic and conservation organizations: Bay Ridge Trail Council, Marin Community Food Bank, Bloomathon, Marin Conservation League, Coastal Conservancy, Maybeck Foundation, Friends of the Mill Valley Library, Mill Valley Historical Society, Homeward Bound, Mt. Tamalpais Conservation Club, Hospice of Marin, Mr. Tamalpais Interpretative Association, Marin Agricultural Land Trust, Save the San Francisco Bay, Marin Beyond Pesticides, Slide Ranch, Spectrum, Streamkeepers.
 

Literary Program

This committee offers four to five programs throughout the year that are open to member and the public. Past year's included: Author, James Dalessandro, 1906, a historical novel; photojournalist, Paola Gianturco, Celebrating Women, a book focusing on 17 festivals around the world; novelest, Martin Cruz Smith, Wolves Eat Dogs; and mystery writer, Rhys Bowen, In Like Flynn, her just released Molly Murphy novel.
